Ikorodu North LCDA is located in the north-eastern part of Ikorodu Division.
It shares boundaries with: Ikorodu Central, Ikorodu West LCDA ,
Imota LCDA, and Sagamu (Ogun State) Its administrative headquarters is
located at Isiu Town, one of the prominent traditional settlements in the area. This strategic location places Ikorodu North as a gateway between Lagos and Ogun States, making it a vital link for inter-state trade and industrial development.
The Ikorodu North LCDA is made up of several vibrant communities and towns which comprises of 5 wards: Isiu (the headquarters), Odogunyan, Olorunda, Erikorodo, Agbala.
Ikorodu North LCDA comprises several historic and fast-developing communities and towns, and settlements, each with its own unique identity, traditional leadership, and cultural heritage. Each of these communities has its own traditional structure, local economy, and growing population contributing collectively to the development of the LCDA.
In the LCDA there are over 300 Community Development Areas (CDAs), 10 Joint Community Development Areas (JCDAs).
These communities are home to diverse groups of people engaged in various economic, cultural, and social activities.
Since its creation, Ikorodu North LCDA has been administered by democratically elected chairmen,
caretakers, and administrators appointed by the Lagos State Government
at different times. The LCDA operates under the political and
administrative structure of Lagos State, with the Executive Chairman
serving as the chief executive,
supported by councillors representing the different wards.
Prominent leaders who have served as Chairmen of the LCDA include:

2. Mr. Kamoru Keshinro - Executive Secretary
3. Hon. Muyideen Adeola Jokomba - Executive Chairman
4. Hon. Adebisi Adeola Banjo - Executive Secretary
5. Sukurat Oke-Owo - Sole Administrator
6. Dr. Adebisi Adeola Banjo – Former Executive Chairman
7. Mayor Ameen Olawale Ibrahim (Apanisile) – Incumbent Executive Chairman
Each administration has contributed to the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the LCDA through projects in road construction, health, education, and youth empowerment.
Under the leadership of Mayor Ameen Apanisile, the LCDA has witnessed remarkable growth in infrastructure, education, health, and community engagement.
The Administrative Arm, led by the Council Manager, coordinating departments such as Administration and Human Resource, Works and Infrastructure, Budget and Planning, Agriculture, Environment, Health, and Education.
Each administration has contributed to the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the LCDA through projects in road construction, health, education, and youth empowerment.

Ikorodu North LCDA host numerous security personnels including Nigeria Army (NA) 174 Battalion Odogunyan Ikorodu, The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) CP Tactical Team, Araro, Adamo, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Joint Taskforce (JTF), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), Nigeria Legion (NL) and many more.
Ikorodu North LCDA host one of the State Owned University, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) and several Secondary and Primary Schools.
Ikorodu North LCDA is one of the most industrialized areas in Lagos State. The Odogunyan Industrial Estate is a major economic hub, hosting several large-scale industries, local and multinational industries such as:
African Steel Mills, Lucky Fibre, PZ Plc and Various medium and small-scale enterprises.
These industries provide employment opportunities for residents and contribute immensely to the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the area , local revenue generation, and the overall industrial capacity of Lagos State.
Aside from industrial activities, farming, trading, and small-scale enterprises also thrive in rural communities such as Isiu, Adamo, Erikorodo, Agbala and Agbede, where farming, poultry, and produce marketing form part of the local economy making Ikorodu North a balanced blend of industrial and agricultural development. Here are also farm settlement such as Erikorodo Farm Settlement and Odogunyan Farm Settlement.
Ikorodu North LCDA is rich in Yoruba culture and traditions. The people uphold their ancestral customs, reflected in their festivals, traditional leadership, and community values.
Some notable cultural celebrations include:
Eweye Day (Isiu) – celebrated annually to promote unity and community development and other annual community events that promote unity and cultural pride.
Traditional institutions play vital roles in governance and social cohesion. The Oba of Isiu, His Royal Majesty, Oba David Kayode Raji (Olupejobi II), serves as a key custodian of culture and heritage, alongside several Baales and community leaders, play vital roles in maintaining peace, order, and cultural values across the LCDA.
